An opportunity for everyone

I first got in touch with Oriflame 21 years ago through my mother. She had begun working for Oriflame the year before, and I became her first club member. At that point I was working fulltime at a bank. I sold the products to colleagues, friends and acquaintances; it was kind of a hobby for me.

About nine years ago I began working as an Oriflame Consultant – alongside my now part-time job at the bank – to see whether I would enjoy it. I had a magnificent role model to follow because my mother was a Director* by then. About one year later I became a Manager*, and it wasn’t long before I really felt at home
at Oriflame.

It’s very hard to find a career that’s so easy to combine with having a young family. A year later, in 1998, I was invited to take part in a training course for potential Gold Directors*. It was a lot of fun and an enormous challenge, and I learned a lot. That was when I decided to make Oriflame my career and quit my job at the bank – a decision I’ve never regretted.

I became a Gold Director* in 1999. Starting out with eight Managers*, I now have 35. The business just keeps growing! Our team is full of fun, convivial people, which is very important to me – after all, life can be pretty bleak if you don’t enjoy your job or being with your colleagues.

Together we have experienced many wonderful moments, and have been named Top Region 3 times! I can’t tell you how proud I am of my team, which incidentally includes the person I admire most – my mother. She is 71 years old and has the largest district in the Netherlands, which is a great accomplishment.

I hope we can continue working together for many years to come. All along, my personal growth has been positively influenced by the opportunity to coach and accompany other women into positions they never would have dreamed they could attain.

My advice for getting ahead? Try shifting your boundaries outwards, and always believe in yourself.

You’ll soon see that it works! For me, a dream has become reality. Oriflame offers this opportunity to everyone – making a career within boundaries you set yourself.
