What is phytoplankton?

Plankton are organisms, often microscopic in size, that float or drift freely in water marine and freshwater. Plankton can be either animal - zooplankton - for example some crustaceans, or plant - phytoplankton - for example spirulina or blue green algae. Therefore phytoplankton is in line with Oriflame Cosmetics policy of not using animal ingredients.
